Hinterland dress workshop. 2 day workshop to make a hinterland dress. Day 1 Saturday 18th April 10am - 2.30pm with a break for lunch. You will all get a pattern which is included in the price of the workshop. From this you will draft your pattern pieces and choice which dress option you are wanting. The pattern features three sleeve options, either partial or full button down plackets, customizable length, and inseam pockets, this is a pattern workhorse that spans the seasons.. You will then be shown how to get best use out of your fabric when cutting pattern pieces. You will be asked to provide your own fabric for this workshop. We will cut out our pattern pieces. As we are using woven fabric we will use the overlocker around all our pattern pieces. Depending on time we may start the construction of our dress. Day 2 Sunday 26th April 10am till 2.30pm with a break for lunch We will continue with the dress construction. You will learn how to sew bust darts, bias facings, inseam pockets, button plackets, inset sleeves and button holes. The course is aimed at advanced beginners who are confident using a sewing machine. The dress can be made in sizes 8-24 You will need to provide the materials for this workshop the dress is designed for woven fabrics, mid-weight linen, silk noil, cotton ikat, and light- to mid-weight chambray or denim. Note that if you want to extend the skirt length beyond the provided midi length, you will need to purchase extra fabric. You will also need more fabric if the fabric you chose has a directional pattern. You will take home a beautiful dress, your pattern pieces so you can make it again and a pattern for you to keep. The workshop price is £80 for the two days. I will provide refreshments. You will need to bring your lunch and your chosen dress fabric.
